: Big Hole River: About what you would expect over here for this time of the year and given the conditions, the Spruce Moth stuff is on the slow down with the cool wet and rainy weather. The dry fly fishing will probably still be decent, you're just more likely to see BWO's than hoppers around right now, if and when the weather warms up expect there to still be some terrestrial fishing, but we'll have to rely on Mother Nature for that... Flows are still below 400CFS at Melrose - so you're going to be dragging a bit now, so don't bring a drift boat unless you really like doing glasswork in your spare time... Even with rubber rafts its going to be pretty low and you might have to drag a bit. Until the weather warms, purple haze's and blue winged olive nymphs will probably be your mainstay, that and streamers! Fly pattern suggestions:

| About: -
The Big Hole River comes to life in the Beaverhead
Mountains south of Jackson, Montana, as the outlet of Skinner Lake, elevation
7,340. Throughout the 155.6 miles it flows, the Big Hole takes on many faces.
From its beginning as a small mountain stream, the Big Hole flows north to
Wisdom, where it gains strength by joining with the North Fork and flows
northeasterly for about 25 miles.
