Conditions
: Lake Tenkiller: Elevation is normal (stable), water temperature 54°F and murky. Crappie, Black, Crappie, White fair on jigs, minnows, tube jigs around brush structure, docks, main lake. Bass, White fair on alabama rigs, crankbaits, in-line spinnerbaits around channels, main lake, river channel. Bass, Largemouth, Bass, Spotted good on alabama rigs, crankbaits, plastic baits around brush structure, channels, docks. Comments: Anglers are finding some success with the white bass by trolling the upper lake in the river channel. Crappie fishing success changes from day to day. Located on the Illinois River a
few miles south of Tahlequah, Lake Tenkiller lies in the heart of the
Cookson Hills and reaches more than 25 miles up the river into Sequoyah and
Cherokee Counties. Tenkiller is the clearest body of water in Oklahoma.
The 13,000 acre lake consist of rocky bluffs, secluded coves, and
serene, lush forest that provides beautiful scenery from any area on the
lake. Anglers may choose from various bass species, crappie,
catfish, bream and walleye. Rainbow trout are stocked below the dam. (more on

Tenkiller - prohibited methods of fishing: gigs and spears downstream from Horseshoe Bend boat ramp; speargunning legal when used with SCUBA, except taking flathead catfish from June 15 through July 15 is prohibited.
