Conditions : NEHALEM RIVER: Chinook fishing is slow on the bay. There are fish throughout the bay, and probably some sneaking past the head of tide with last weekend’s rains. ODFW conducted creel surveys two weeks ago at Nehalem and Wheeler boat launches and catch was very slow, but there were lots of fish (mostly coho) showing. Large numbers of hatchery coho showed up at the North Fork Nehalem hatchery last week, and several were being caught in the North Fork at the hatchery and just below.

Sea-run cutthroat are present throughout the system. Casting spinners or streamer flies along banks or to cover should get some bites.
