: NEHALEM RIVER: Winter steelhead fishing in the north fork is fair. The hatchery steelhead run is mostly over, so look for more wild fish in the catch during the later season. Steelhead are available in the mainstem Nehalem also. Fishing conditions should improve as the river drops this week. The upper river will be the first to clear and should offer decent opportunity. Very few hatchery fish are present, so fishing is primarily catch-and-release. The Salmonberry River should produce some fish also, but check on access conditions before you go.
