Conditions
: NECANICUM RIVER: The hatchery steelhead run on the Necanicum River is nearly over but there are wild steelhead throughout the fishery that provide some catch-and-release opportunity. We've gotten some good reports the past week. The Necanicum should drop into shape quickly after Wednesday's high water and should be fishable late in the week through the weekend. Boaters should use extreme caution on the Necanicum as the winter weather over the last few weeks could have brought down trees and created new boating hazards.?

About: -Necanicum River: This small stream offers fall Chinook salmon fishing along with
steelhead and sea-run cutthroat trout. Chinook are in the river from late
October or early November to around Thanksgiving, peaking in mid-November. The
hatchery winter steelhead run lasts from late October through the middle of
January. This run peaks around the end of December. A small wild run of
steelhead arrives in early February, peaking between mid-February and into
March. Sea-run cutthroats move through from August to late October, with prime
fishing for them early in the season before they disperse into tributary streams
to spawn.
