| Fishing Info: Elephant Butte Reservoir, has more than 200 miles of shoreline. The lake has an hourglass shape with big upper and lower sections connected by a four-mile stretch of the Rio Grande named The Narrows. The Butte is a very popular tributary for tournament bass fisherman. As recently as 2001 a 52 lb striper was caught, but that still shy a couple pounds of the lake and state record.
