Dworshak State Park is located among trees and meadows on the western shore of Dworshak Reservoir. The park is comprised of three units - Freeman Creek, Three Meadows Group Camp, and Big Eddy Lodge and Marina.

Camping, boating, fishing, swimming, hiking and water-skiing are just some of the many activities that await park visitors. A boat ramp and handling dock provide easy launching most of the year. A fish-cleaning station is nearby to help with the days catch.

At this point in the Lewis and Clark Expedition, the explorers finally reached navigable waters after enduring grueling months crossing the Bitterroot Mountains. An interpretive sign relates how the expedition camped here from September 26 to October 7, 1805, while 5 canoes were built for their journey down the Clearwater, Snake and Columbia Rivers. A replica of a canoe is on display.

Clearwater Historical Museum

Dedicated to preserving the history of the Clearwater River area, this museum displays samples from their collection of more than 4,000 old pictures and historical artifacts from the past, including gold mining, logging, farming, the Nez Perce Indians and the Lewis & Clark Expedition. Individual tours are given on request. The historical society also offers programs on regional history at their meetings, held the 2nd Tuesday of each month, October through May.
