Jordanelle State Park Camping

Jordanelle Reservoir
Information provided by Utah Division of Wildlife Resources
Jordanelle Dam and Reservoir, are on the Provo River about 10 miles north of Heber City, Utah at the 6,130-foot elevation. The reservoir has a 3,050 surface area.  Situated in an open setting with shade along the Francis Arm. Jordanelle Reservoir provides excellent fishing for rainbow trout, cutthroat trout and smallmouth bass. A population of brown trout produced in Provo River, is expanding in the reservoir. This mix of species provides an excellent sport fishery.

Two major recreation areas access the reservoir: Hailstone, located on Highway 40 six miles north of Heber, and Rock Cliff, two miles west of Francis on State Route 32. Two boat ramps and fish cleaners are available at Hailstone, and boat rentals and fishing tackle can be purchased from the marina.

Jordanelle Reservoir can also be reached by the non-motorized Perimeter Trail connecting Hailstone and Rock Cliff. The trail also allows hikers, mountain bikers, horse-riders, and cross-country skiers to access Historic Union Pacific Rail Trail State Park.

The park headquarters can be reached at (435) 649-9540.
