: LOGAN RIVER: Fishing forecast (March through June): Trout numbers are stable this year, and fishing should be good throughout the river. Fishing during the spring months can be very good. Spinners, jigs or crankbaits can be used to target trout. Blue Fox, Panther Martin and Mepps are good spinner choices. Gold, silver, yellow and black are typically the most effective colors. If youre fly fishing, small nymphs of midges, sow bugs, caddisflies and mayflies work well. Streamers in various colors are also a good bet. Black, brown, olive and olive/white are particularly productive colors. Higher river flows during runoff will move fish into slower water near banks. Where regulations allow, nightcrawlers can be great at this time of year. Large and dark-colored streamers or artificial baits can also be used. Please remember that special bait regulations are in place above Card Canyon Bridge, and theres a seasonal closure above Red Banks. Reported by: Utah D.W.R |
