: Hiwassee River - The Hiawassee River continues to produce very nice trout. Float trips down the Hiawassee from Reliance has found several very big fish. With the cooler temperatures moving in Fall is in the air. The heavy rain has pushed the leaves to start falling so enjoy the beatiful colors while you can. Although this is a great place to fish be careful as you travel. We have had some very large rock slides recently. Good fishin' to you all. Reported by: Sportsmans Warehouse |

| About: -
The Hiwassee River. Situated in southeast Tennessee
and are within the boundaries of the
Cherokee National Forest. The Hiwassee is a
clear, cold stream with plenty of trout for anglers.
In the trophy trout section, anglers can catch football-shaped rainbows and
browns to 20 inches, with 16 inchers quite common. Most of the time, the catches
average about 12 inches. The lower Hiawassee below US 411 can be difficult to
reach because most of the land is private, but access to the upper region is
afforded by several roads. Above the powerhouse access is tough.
