Conditions : Oneida Lake: Walleye fishing continues to be good but fish are still scattered so searching is required. Fish are being caught in 15 to 25 feet of water and also in deeper 30 to 35 feet. The areas from buoy 109 to 111, and also from buoy 117-123 have been good. Blade baits and black & purple jigs tipped with nightcrawler are still working well. Trollers are also doing well with lead core and stickbaits. There are a lot of young of the year yellow perch being spotted on the lake. Smallmouth bass are actively feeding on them. When you find the perch fishing tube jigs, drop-shot rigs and surface lures has been working well. Panfishing has also been good around the weed beds.

About: - Oneida Lake is a large lake in central New York, northeast of Syracuse. The lake is near the Great Lakes and serves as one of the links in the Erie Canal. It empties into the Oneida River which flows into the Oswego River which in turn flows into Lake Ontario. Because it is shallow, in the summer it is warmer than the deeper Finger Lakes, and freezes solidly in winter, making it relatively safe and popular for ice fishing.
