Conditions
: Lake Beulah: Bass - Temperatures are still on the cooler side, which mean fish are less active. However, with warmer weather on the way, look for the activity start to pick up. Suspended crank baits, spinner baits, and worms are a good choice. Just fish them slow this time of year. Target deeper areas with underwater cover. With water temperatures starting to warm, also expect crappie activity start to pick up. Around this time anglers are still trolling deeper areas of the lake. Look for any structure in the lake and try various depths. Using jigs or minnows is a good choice. Bream fishing is still slow at this time. However, look for activity to pick up with warmer weather on the way. Try using redworms at different depths. Catfishing is also slow at this time. Look for catfish to become more active with water temps starting to heat up. Try fishing near the bottom with liver, nightcrawlers, or cut bait. Reported by: MDWFP |

About: -
Lake Beulah is at a relatively high elevation compared to other Mississippi River oxbow lakes. When the river is below 18 feet (Ark. City) the water level of the lake is stable. Between 18-20 feet lake level is controlled by drainage through culvert in dam. Above 24 feet lake rises/falls close to same rate as changes in river.
