: Martin Lake - Pike fishing continues to be doing well in Martin Lake. There was a 33" 9.5 pound pike caught using a chad on 9/20/2009. There have been several other reports of large pike being caught, mostly from the dam and the east side of the lake. Trout fishing has picked up some in the past week. All of the buoys have been removed from the lake and boating is very minimal this time of year. The lake will be closed completely to trailered boats starting November 1st through March 31. Horseshoe Reservoir - Horseshoe Lake was stocked with roughly 5,000 rainbow trout on 9/14. Trout fishing has been pretty successful using worms as well as lures. There have been sightings of some very large tiger muskie in the lake by boaters. With the leaves changing colors now and the weather staying warm coming out to the lake makes for a great day trip and you might get lucky and catch a muskie. Boaters should be made aware that the invasive plant, Eurasian Watermilfoil is very thick on the north side of the lake so use caution if passing through that area. Due to this plant, the lake will be closed completely to trailered boats starting November 1st. Reported by: Colorado D.O.W |
