| Conditions
: Bitterroot River: The Bitterroot has dropped into great shape and fishing good. Skwalas are out in force and the fish are looking up. Rogue Stones, Water Walkers, Pavs Sweet Dream, Cadillacs, Plan Bs and Rolling Stones are the Skwalas to have. Look for fish to be tight to cover and in the tailouts of runs. Have a few BWOs on hand too. Everyday we are seeing March Browns, so be ready with a few sz 14-16 Brindle Chutes, Carnage Drakes and P-Hazes. Streamer fishing should get pretty good when the clouds come out later this week. Stick to smaller streamers like Lil Kims, Mini-Dungeons, Baby Gongas, Space Invaders, Sparkle Minnows and Kreelex. | About: - Located in Southwestern Montana just north of the Idaho Border. The Bitterroot is a river consisting of diverse water and quality hatches. Cutthroat, brown, rainbow, and brook trout can all be found in its waters. The Bitterroot is approximately 75 miles long from the junction of the East and West Fork just below Conner to where it meets the Clark Fork near Missoula. You will find riffles, deep pools, fallen trees, and other characteristics of a outstanding trout fishery. (River Access & Special Regulations) |
