Conditions : FISH LAKE: Fishing forecast (April through May): The ice typically comes off Fish Lake between mid-April and early May. For safety, boats are not allowed on the lake until all the ice is completely gone. Spring fishing can be good to excellent for most fish species as they start feeding actively. Once boats are allowed, you can troll for rainbow trout, lake trout and kokanee salmon, or jig for perch and splake. Shore fishing is mostly limited to open water around Twin Creek, though you can also try fishing other shallow shorelines at night for splake. Consult the Fish Lake entry on the Fish Utah map for fishing tips for all these species. Contact Fish Lake Resorts (Fish Lake Lodge/Lakeside Marina) or Bowery Haven Resort before you go to check on current conditions and get up-to-date fishing reports. Yellow perch: There is no limit for yellow perch at Fish Lake, and you are encouraged to harvest as many perch as you catch. You are also allowed to waste perch at Fish Lake, so if you don't want to take them all home, just kill the fish and drop them back in the lake. Puncturing the air bladder is key to leaving those nutrients in the lake, otherwise the seagulls will just pick them up off the surface.

About: - Fish Lake is a large natural lake, 6 miles long and 1 mile wide, situated 8,800 feet up in the heavily forested Fishlake Mountains. The lake is a bit too cold for swimming, but there is good fishing for large lake trout. In the surrounding area are some good hiking and biking trails. Winter brings heavy snow and opportunities for snowmobiling, cross-country skiing and ice fishing. There are two marinas on the lake, lodging units, a couple of restaurants and developed campgrounds. Fish Lake is located along Hwy 25, about 7 miles east of Hwy 24. It is about 20 miles northwest of Loa and 34 miles southeast of Richfield at I-70

Misc Info: - Special regulations for Fish Lake include no more than 2 of your 4 trout limit may be lake trout and only 1 may be a lake trout larger than 20 inches.
