Conditions : SIEVER RIVER: Marysvale - Fishing forecast (March through May): Spring provides some of the best fishing of the year in Marysvale Canyon as trout wake up from winter sluggishness. Low-elevation snowmelt can make the river muddy at any time and may or may not raise the flow much. Irrigation releases from Piute Reservoir generally begin in mid-to-late April and make fishing more difficult. Releases from Piute to Yuba Reservoir can happen at any time. Check sevierriver.org for real-time flows. Fishing is reasonable up to about 200 cubic feet per second (anything above that it gets more difficult). Focus your spring fishing efforts on whenever the flow is low and not muddy.

Black Canyon - Fishing forecast (March through May): Fishing conditions change quite a bit throughout the spring as snow melts around Black Canyon. Low-elevation snowmelt can make the river muddy at any time and may or may not raise the flow much. You can expect full runoff to make fishing more difficult in mid-to-late spring. Whenever the flow is low, however, fishing can be good to excellent for trout waking up from winter sluggishness. Visit sevierriver.org to see real-time flows.

Kingston Canyon - Fishing forecast (March through May): Spring provides some of the best fishing of the year in Kingston Canyon as trout wake up from winter sluggishness. Low-elevation snowmelt can make the river muddy at any time and may or may not raise the flow much. Irrigation releases from Otter Creek Reservoir begin in mid-to-late April and can make fishing more difficult. Focus your spring fishing efforts on whenever the flow is low and not muddy.

Upper East Fork - Fishing forecast (April through May): Access opens up in mid-to-late April. Spring fishing can be tough during runoff, but this usually subsides by late May or early June. Wild trout are abundant and should be feeding actively.

About: - EAST FORK SEVIER RIVER, Garfield and Kane County. Upstream from Tropic Reservoir, this stream is located on the Dixie National Forest. It is accessible by gravel road and contains primarily brook trout and cutthroat trout. A number of tributary streams in this area are also fishable. Further downstream, in the Black Canyon area, the stream contains mostly brown trout, with some rainbow and cutthroat trout. This area is accessible by the county road between Antimony and Bryce Canyon. Much of the lower stream is on private land, but some access is available on state trust lands, BLM, and Utah Wildlife Resources property.

ASAY CREEK, MAMMOTH CREEK -  Asay Creek west of Highway 89 is on private land and access is restricted. Public access is possible on much of Mammoth Creek west of Highway 89. Special regulations apply to a section of Mammoth Creek, check the proclamation for details. When the outlet gates are shut on Piute Reservoir the river will clear up in Marysvale Canyon and can provide some good winter fishing for brown and rainbow trout.
