About: - The Wautauga River is located just outside Elizabethton in the northeast corner of the Tennessee, it’s one of the best trout fisheries in Tennessee has to offer. The river species are rainbow, brook, and brown trout and much of the river is surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery Tennessee has to offer.

There is even a trophy section with catch and release regulations to protect the lower end of the river.

To reach the area, take I-40 east out of Nashville to I-81 north. Then take I-181 to Johnson City. Follow the signs to Elizabethton.
