Conditions : Detroit Reservoir: The reservoir is slowly being drawn down to provide winter storage capacity. At the moment it is about 17 feet below full pool with most boat ramps still in the water. Best bet is to use Mongold boat ramp. The scheduled release of 5,000 hatchery rainbow trout the week of Sept. has been postponed until October. Anglers report good catches of both trout and kokanee in the 12 to 14 inch range.

About: - Detroit Lake is located in the Cascades of Oregon. The 400-foot-deep lake was created in 1953 when the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers completed the Detroit Dam project. The lake is over nine miles long with more than 32 miles of shore line. Detroit provides many easily accessible locations for avid fishermen. There are many fishing spots around Detroit Lake that can be very good from the shore.  Fishing from the dam provides the easiest access with some very good fishing action.  (more on Detroit Lake)
