Conditions : CHEWAUCAN RIVER: The entire river is open all year and fly-fishing for redband trout will be picking up as flows decrease. Upstream of Paisley is still high for this time of year. Once temperatures rise some more, fishing will get better. Best time to fish is mid-day, and both dry flies and nymphs are typically productive. Largemouth bass are being caught downstream of Highway 31, and will pick up dramatically with warming temperatures. Bait is allowed downstream of Hwy 31 at Paisley, however the use of bait is prohibited upstream of highway 31.

Largemouth bass and brown bullhead are available to anglers at the first Hwy. 31 crossing just north of Valley Falls. Small boats can be launched at this site.
