| About: -
McGee Creek Lake is located about 15 miles southeast of the city of Atoka
in one of the state's most scenic areas. It impounds the waters of McGee Creek
in eastern Atoka County. Virtually all the land surrounding the lake is covered
with dense forest. The lake has 64 miles of shoreline, and a mean depth of 27.3 feet.
McGee Creek Dam is in the Red River Basin on McGee Creek. McGee Creek Lake is well stocked with largemouth bass, all varieties of catfish,
crappie, smallmouth bass, perch and is one of Oklahomas top lakes for springtime trophy bass.
McGee Creek State Park has two main recreational areas, boat ramps, comfort
stations with showers, fishing pier, swimming beach, picnic sites and
playground. Campers may choose from 8 lake huts, 41 paved and regular RV
campsites, or a primitive campsite in wilderness areas. Average rate for lake
hut $42. RV sites are $15-18 per night.
