: Copan: Elevation is 2 ft. below normal (stable), water temperature 59°F and murky. Catfish, Blue, Catfish, Channel fair on crawfish, cut bait, goldfish, live bait, live shad, minnows, sunfish, worms around channels, creek channels, river channel, shorelines. Crappie, Black, Crappie, White good on hair jigs, minnows, powerbait, small lures, tube jigs around brush structure, docks, shallows, standing timber. Copan Lake is about 4,850 acres of water and impounded behind this dam on the Little Caney River.
Copan Lake, located 1.8 miles north of Copan and, provides excellent habitat for game fish such as largemouth bass, white crappie, channel and
flathead catfish, and various species of sunfish.
Copan Lake has good camping facilities. Copan Point offers a designated beach
area, beautiful picnic sites overlooking the water, and a boat-launching ramp.
