| About: -
Trout season at the Blue River generally runs from November 1, through March
31 the following year. Approximately 6.25 miles of the Blue River flows through
the area designated as the Blue River Public Fishing and Hunting Area.
The stream is easily accessible to both shore and wading anglers. Blue River
stockings are seasonal because summer water temperatures become too warm to
support trout survival.
This designated trout stream is located four miles east of Tishomingo on
Highway 78 and six miles north in Johnston County.
The area includes the Blue River Campground, the Carl R. and Ruth Walker
Landrum Wilderness Area and a leased access area. To preserve this tract, no
vehicles are allowed in the wilderness or the leased access area. Special Access
is provided for handicapped persons confined to wheelchairs.
