: EAGLE NEST LAKE: Kokanee snagging was rated as fair this past week. Anglers did best working near the boat ramp. Fishing was very good using worms for perch. Trout fishing was good using Power Bait and salmon eggs. One northern pike in the 30-inch range was snagged. The boat ramp is impassible to big boats due to low water conditions. Canoes, kayaks and small boats may still be launched.

This 2,000-acre impoundment alongside U.S. 64 northeast of Taos is one of the state's premier kokanee and trout lakes; also has yellow perch. Good in open water or through ice for 14-inch-plus rainbows.
