: EAGLE NEST LAKE: Kokanee snagging was good for some but a bit slow for others. The best area was near the boat ramp. Bank fishing was good using roe sacs, salmon eggs and Power Bait for rainbow trout and worms for perch. Fishing for northern pike was slow. The boat ramp has been closed due to low water conditions. Canoes and kayaks may still be launched.

This 2,000-acre impoundment alongside U.S. 64 northeast of Taos is one of the state's premier kokanee and trout lakes; also has yellow perch. Good in open water or through ice for 14-inch-plus rainbows.
