: EAGLE NEST LAKE: Fishing continued to be very good using worms for perch. Anglers did well from the bank and from anchored boats. Fishing for trout continued to be very sporadic with some fish caught by anglers trolling spinners tipped with corn or Power Bait and others doing best using Power Bait from anchored boats. Fishing for kokanee and northern pike was slow.

This 2,000-acre impoundment alongside U.S. 64 northeast of Taos is one of the state's premier kokanee and trout lakes; also has yellow perch. Good in open water or through ice for 14-inch-plus rainbows.
