Conditions : Hebgen Lake: Fishing is getting very good. There is some decent dry fly action, using midges and baetis. Leech patterns will work along the banks as well. Spin fishing has been good as well, using marabou jigs or jigs tipped with white curly tails.

Ciff & Wade Lake - Fishing has been hit or miss, although there have been some good reports lately. Fly fishing has been decent using small leech patterns and wooly buggers, while gear fishing has been good using night crawlers and marshmallows from shore. Trolling has been decent as well, pulling flashy spoons and bright colored cranks. Jigging can be good as well, pitching a marabou jig to shore tipped with a night crawler.

About: - It is located about 20 minutes west of West Yellowstone and is very accessible. It is also the lake that some guides believe is the finest dry fly lake in North America. Hebgen has a healthy population of browns, cutthroats and rainbows.  Fly fishing can be productive whether you use wet or dry flies.
