Conditions : Smithville: Water Surface Temp: 75º Water Level (Range): low Water Type: dingy Fish Reported: Catfish: Good Walleye: Slow Crappie: Slow Largemouth Bass: Fair White Bass: Fair crappie are slow; catfish are good and are biting on everything; largemouth bass are fair around fish stumps and shallow trees; white bass are fair by the dam early in the morning; walleye are slow.

About: - Smithville Lake is a 7,190-acre reservoir on the Little Platte branch of the Platte River near Smithville, Missouri. More than 4,000 of the water surface acres were left uncleared to provide the aquatic habitat that should provide excellent fishing. Hundreds of irregularly shaped coves will furnish over 175 miles of shoreline fishing.

Large mouth bass, channel catfish, blue catfish, flathead catfish, bluegill, walleye and crappie are all native fish caught at Smithville Lake. The average number of bass tournaments held annually on Smithville Lake is 300.
