Conditions
: ABERDEEN LAKE: Bass - Bass fishing has been fair to good, as bass are feeding up before the spawn. Jigs, chatterbaits, and dark colored Texas-rigged plastics like creature baits have been best lures. As water temps continue to warm, square-billed crankbaits and spinnerbaits will be a popular choices. A Colorado bladed spinnerbaits will be the better choice in the dirty water conditions. o current reports on crappie, but should be picking up as water temps continue to warm. Dark colored jigs or minnows in cleaner water are good choices. Cat - Target the mouths of the old river runs at the edge of any current. Deep stumps and log jams are ideal spots for catfish to lay up. Tight lining cut shad is the best technique. The bites may come slowly, but some quality fish can be had. Reported by: MDWFP |

About: -
At 4100-acres,
Aberdeen Lake is one of the premier May destinations for bass fishermen
in the state of Mississippi. The lake has sloughs off the old river runs and
they are shallow and filled with cover. After the spawn, the bass at Aberdeen
don't move out of the bedding areas, because they don't have to. Some of the
best sloughs are Vine's Branch, Buzzard Wing and Moccasin Creek. The best old
river run is Becker's.
Location: Monroe County, Hwy 45 East of Aberdeen.
