: LAKE MONROE: The crappie and bass reports have been good. Crappie are being caught by trolling and also on sunken brushtops off mainlake points. Both jigs and minnows were catching fish. Bass are being caught off of shoreline brushtops and vegetation. The best depths have been 4 to 6 feet with texas-rigged plastic worms and lizards being the best baits. A shallow running crankbait has been a good choice for windy banks. The bream reports are fair. Most anglers are fishing from the bank and are catching most fish by tight-lining wigglers and crickets. Reported by: MDWFP |

| About: -
Lake Monroe is known for its
good population of largemouth bass
and shellcrackers, the 100-acre lake also contains
good populations of crappie and large channel
catfish. Largemouth bass over 10 lbs. are not
uncommon, with good numbers of bass in the
3 - 6 pound range. Two handicapped
access fishing piers make fishing from
the bank popular. Although the lake is
restricted to idle speed only, the boat ramp can
accommodate boats of all sizes. Presently,
there are no harvest regulations for any
species. However, statewide creel limits do apply.
Sportfishing licenses are required to fish with
the exception of July 4. Fishing permits are
also required. Directions to Lake
Monroe From Tupelo, MS, take Hwy. 45 south to Highway 278. Go east on Hwy. 278
for 4 miles. Right on Lake Monroe Drive. Follow signs to lake.
