Conditions : LAKE MONROE: Bass - Bass fishing has been good recently, and some nice fish are being caught, mainly in water 5' or less. Beating the banks with jerkbaits, shakeyhead finesse worms, swimbaits, Texas-rigged soft plastics, or jigs seems to be working well.

Crappie anglers are struggling for the most part. Jigs are working as well as anything, but experiment with different color combos to find what they prefer.

Size, not numbers, defines bream fishing right now. Some very nice Bluegill are being caught on small spinners. Also try tightlining red worms around cover and along primary drop-offs for shellcrackers (redear).

No catfish anglers have been interviewed at the lake. Try tight lining worms, liver, or koolaid flavored chicken.
