Conditions : COLUMBUS LAKE: Bass - Bass fishing is fair. The bass fishermen have been fishing in the gravel pits, Tibbee Creek and the Hwy. 50 slough area. Some good topwater action can be had early in the morning or late evening. Texas-rigged soft plastics and spinnerbaits are also producing some fish.
Crappie fishing is fair as well, and a few reports from the lower end of the lake around the gravel pits have come in. Both crappie jigs and minnows are working.
The catfish bite has slowed somewhat but several folks are still reporting some nice catches below the dam. Jug and trotline fishing are producing some nice catches. Most catfish baits (liver, nightcrawlers, cutbait) are all catching a few fish.
