: BAY SPRINGS LAKE: Bass - The bass bite is fair. The best baits to catch numbers are spinnerbaits, flukes and crankbaits. The key for the quality bite is to fish a little deeper with soft plastics and jigs. Crappie - The most successful crappie anglers have been fishing deeper water, hitting secondary points and/or brushtops. Minnows have been out producing jigs right now, but either bait should produce some bites. A few reports of catfish being caught are coming in on the northern part of the lake around Crows Neck and in the divide cut. Anglers are targeting the run outs with a tight line presentation. Whole or cut shad seems to be the most popular bait.Reported by: MDWFP |
