: BAY SPRINGS LAKE: Bass - Bass fishing is fair to good, depending on who you talk to. Some anglers are catching 20-30, while many others are striking out. Both spotted and largemouth bass are still being caught in fairly shallow water. Try fishing in less than 8 feet of water with swimbaits, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, and jigs. T-rigged soft plastics are also a good option. Crappie fishing is good, but with a lot of short fish being caught. Jigs are working as well as anything. Cat - Target the old Mackeys Creek area at the north end of the lake and the canal above Crows Neck. Tight lining cut/whole shad is the best technique to use. Look for the bite to be a little better around the culverts and run outs. Reported by: MDWFP |
