Conditions : C.J. Strike Reservoir: Anglers are still catching a mix of bass, crappie, perch and blue gill. Not too many trout are being caught right now but once it cools down it will improve. Most bass fisherman are drop shotting or dragging plastics on Carolina rigs in 16-20 feet. Crappie are still being caught in the Narrows and in the main lake between 15-20 feet.

About: - About C.J. Strike: The reservoir impounds the Snake and Bruneau Rivers. It's primary uses are fishing, boating and camping. The BLM operates 26 camp units with restroom facilities and drinkable water free of charge. Several camping areas are located on the south shore of the Bruneau Arm. Most offer minimal services and are free. The Black Sands resort east of the dam offers full services. Camping fees are $20 per night for full hookups or $12 for no hookups. (more on CJ Strike)

Directions: Take I-84 east to Mountain Home, then south on Idaho 51. It takes about 1 1/2 hours to get there from Boise.
