Conditions : Lake Dardanelle: Chuck Morrison at Classic Catch Guide Service (479-774-9117) said the river the water is dingy with a little clear water in the headwaters and creeks. Surface water temperature is in the low 40s, warming to 45 by the end of the day. Crappie are slow, but a few have been caught late on chartreuse jigs fished 15 to 20 feet deep. Stripers have slowed, but if you have some patience, you can catch a few around the power plant on 1/4-oz. spinners and Alabama rigs fished in the current. White bass are biting very well in the creeks on small Rat-L-Traps and small white crankbaits. Largemouth bass have been caught shallow and deep on small jigs and soft-plastic worms in shallow water and on Alabama rigs, jerk baits and spoons fished near deeper water. Catfishing is been very good with many being caught by live and prepared baits.

About: - Lake Dardanelle is one of the most accessible and attractive recreation areas in Arkansas. Located about half-way between Little Rock and Fort Smith, the lake stretches some 50 miles.

Bream fishing is excellent in the lake, which has also been stocked with crappie and largemouth bass.  With no closed season and mild winters, fishing is good year round.
