Conditions : Lake Dardanelle: Chuck Morrison at Classic Catch Guide Service (479-774-9117) said water temperature is in the upper 70s with good clarity and sporadic flow. Fishing has been very good from dam to dam. Bream have been excellent on crickets and worms on the main river in 2 feet of water. Bream also are holding around creeks and backwater areas near wood in 3 to 4 feet of water. Bass are holding around river banks with rip rap upriver near grass where bream are hanging out; jigs and crankbaits have been catching some nice bass in these areas. Topwater prop baits, poppers and walking baits are working well during overcast days and low-light hours. If the river flow is up, focus on the tips of the jetties with your topwater lures. At midriver and lower, bass have been very good in the vegetation on frogs and swim baits. Crankbaits and soft-plastic worms have worked well around ledges and drops, especially those with some cover nearby. Striper fishing has been excellent outside the buoy line and on some jetties with a strong current breaks from 5 p.m. until dark. Topwater lures are the way to go for the stripers. White bass have been excellent on small pearl white crankbaits small swimbaits and tailspinners. Crappie are fair in 10 feet of water on minnows and black/chartreuse jigs fished around wood. Catfish have been good around the mouth of the creeks on cut bait. Flathead catfish have been good on rocky banks with live perch.

About: - Lake Dardanelle is one of the most accessible and attractive recreation areas in Arkansas. Located about half-way between Little Rock and Fort Smith, the lake stretches some 50 miles.

Bream fishing is excellent in the lake, which has also been stocked with crappie and largemouth bass.  With no closed season and mild winters, fishing is good year round.
