: Lake Atkins: Lucky Landing (479-641-7615) said fishing has been slow of late. The water is clear and the level is high. Mondays surface water temperature was 38 degrees. Crappie reports are poor. They will bite on jigs, though. Bass are fair on plastic worms. No other species reported.

Built in 1956, the 752-acre
lake is one of several relatively shallow, timbered lakes built on feeder
streams of the Arkansas River in west-central and central Arkansas. It's a
cousin to Lake Conway, Lake Overcup and Harris Brake Lake. All four have
reputations of four or more decades of good bream, crappie catfish and
largemouth bass fishing.
