: Lake Atkins: Lucky Landing (479-641-7615) said the clarity is clear and the surface water temperature is 86-87 degrees. Lake level is low. Bream are good on worms and crickets. Crappie have moved deep, but the bite is good on jigs. Bass are biting off the shoreline in about 3-4 feet depth. Catfishing is fair to slow using chicken liver or shad.

Built in 1956, the 752-acre
lake is one of several relatively shallow, timbered lakes built on feeder
streams of the Arkansas River in west-central and central Arkansas. It's a
cousin to Lake Conway, Lake Overcup and Harris Brake Lake. All four have
reputations of four or more decades of good bream, crappie catfish and
largemouth bass fishing.
