Conditions : Lake Atkins: Lucky Landing (479-641-7615) said fishing has been slow lately, but it seems to be picking up a little. Some anglers in boats have been catching their limits of bluegill lately. Some crappie also are being caught. Bass are still slow, but if you're persistent and willing to brave the heat, you may catch a good one. Some nice catfish have been weighed in, including some very nice flathead catfish. The surface water temperature is around 93 degrees during the day and the water is pretty clear.

About: - Built in 1956, the 752-acre lake is one of several relatively shallow, timbered lakes built on feeder streams of the Arkansas River in west-central and central Arkansas. It's a cousin to Lake Conway, Lake Overcup and Harris Brake Lake. All four have reputations of four or more decades of good bream, crappie catfish and largemouth bass fishing.
