: Brewer Lake: Jan Johnson at Brewer Lake Bait Shop (501-354-4108) said the spillway gates are open and the water level is finally going down. The boat ramps are now visible and launching is not a problem, although there is still no shoreline for bank fishing. Bream are on beds in brushy areas and actively taking crickets and worms. Crappie are still scattered but are starting to move to the structure and are feeding on shad. Catfish are moving onto the flats and hitting a variety of baits, including minnows, worms, shad and liver. The spillway below the dam is producing some excellent fishing for bass and catfish using minnows and worms.
Overcup Landing said the lake is about 2.5 feet high and the water is in fair condition. Crappie are biting fairly well in 18 to 20 feet of water on white/black jigs trolled 9 to 11 feet deep. Bream are beginning to bed up and are biting well on redworms and crickets. Bass are fair on Rooster Tails and buzzbaits. Catfishing is very good on minnows and nightcrawlers.
