Conditions : Brewer Lake: Jan Johnson at Brewer Lake Bait Shop (501-354-4108) said Conway Corporation reports the lake level at 329.3 msl (normal pool level is 330.0 msl). Fishing is best at night and early morning before the heat of the day. Crappie fishing has improved. They are chasing fry in 13 to 17 feet of water. Trolling with white or popsicle curly tailed grubs is productive, but sitting on top of brush piles using live minnows also works well. Catfish are excellent on large minnows, bream or nightcrawlers fished on jugs or poles at night. I am weighing catfish (blues and flathead) in the 15- to 40-lb. range fairly regularly. Bass are fair in the early mornings and late evenings on crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Bream are good on redworms and crickets.
