: Blue Mountain Lake: Hatchet Jacks Sports Shop in Crystal Hill off I-40 (501-758-4958) reports that one of their regulars went to Blue Mountain Lake before this latest rainfall that inundated places, and he reported that for crappie he just slayed em.
But the amount of rain weve had, the crappie will be out of the flow of the lake, now, in the murky waters, and wont be deep. Anytime lakes like this and other similar lakes come up, they get out of the flow, they said. Reported by: Arkansas Fish & Game |

Blue Mountain Lake is located in the shadow of Mt. Magazine, Arkansas highest
mountain. Blue Mountain Lake has offered many recreational opportunities since
its completion in 1947. The excellent fishery in the lake includes largemouth and white bass, crappie, bream, and catfish. Modern campgrounds (Waveland and Outlet Parks) provide tent and trailer spaces, electrical and water hookups, showers, boat launching ramps, parking areas, fish cleaning stations, and many other amenities. For information on reserving campsites please contact the Blue Mountain Lake Field Office. The lake is within easy traveling distance of many other points of interest in the state. Mt. Magazine State Park is located just north of the lake on the mountain for which it is named; it is accessible on very good state highways with a short 30-minute drive from the lake. Blue Mountain Lakes location between the Ozark and Ouachita National Forests complements the natural beauty of the area. There are plenty of activities available to keep any visitor to Blue Mountain Lake busy. Additional information for local attractions is available at chambers of commerce in nearby towns. |
