| About: -
From it headwaters to its confluence with the East Branch of the Delaware River,
forty-five tributaries will feed Beaverkill River, with more
than half designated a "Forever Wild" forest preserve by the State
of New York. The river runs through the Catskill Mountains and has long been celebrated as one of the
most famous trout streams in the United States. During trout season each year, from April through mid-October, the
Beaverkill offers some of the best fly- fishing the Caskills has to offer. Its popularity as a trout stream arises in part from the many cold springs and
deep pools in the upper river that keep the water at an even cold temperature.
