: WOODS CANYON LAKE: The store has boats for rent and plans to stay open through Thanksgiving. According to the owner-operator, Denise, the weather is great and the "fishing is to die for." They might even stay open past Thanksgiving if the weather stays nice, but that is not a certainty, so stay tuned. Fishing is good. The stocking season has ended but larger holdover rainbows and some browns are being caught. Try worms, Power Bait, salmon eggs, and corn, lures such as spinners (Mepps, Panther Martin, and Rooster Tail), small spoons such as Super Dupers, Z-rays, and KastMasters, small rebel crankbaits, and Rapalas, and flies such as peacock ladies, wooly worms, wooly buggers, Yeager buggers, semi-seal leeches, and small nymphs in black, brown or green. Trolling with small Rebel crank baits or with a fly has been productive. Trolling with cowbells with lures flies or bait is another good technique. Reported by: Arizona F&G |
