Conditions
: Big Horn River: Flows have been consistently dropping and are now at 3080 CFS at St Xavier. Water is cold thanks to winter (?). Throw scuds, sow bugs, midge pupa, and perdigons down low. Hopper fishing has been slow, tricos, maybe midges actually, is the main hatch at the moment. Think about a worm, or a delicious egg

Since the completion of Yellowtail Dam the
Bighorn River is rated one of the worlds
finest trout streams because of its abundant trout, dense insect
hatches, and easy accessibility. The river below was transformed into a
cold, clear tailwater, much like a giant spring creek - an ideal habitat

Open entire year. Combined Trout: 5 brown trout daily and
in possession, only 1 over 18 inches. Catch-and-release for rainbow
trout, except anglers 14 years of age and younger may take 1 rainbow
trout daily and in possession, any size.
