| Fishing Info: Heron Lake is a picturesque lake in the mountains set among tall pines. The 6,000-acre lake that favors fishing, sailing views of Brazos Cliffs. Produces 14- to 20-inch kokanee, and 10- to 20-plus-pound lake trout. Ice fishing is popular in winter for the arctic set. Heron has a marina and a visitor center along with several scenic campgrounds that line the shore of this scenic lake. (Primitive and full developed campsites are available.)
